Grinding
Grinding tools used in grinding is for shaping the glass by abrasion.
Grinding is a highly extensive and comprehensive area. Very thin and small size glass can be grinded in contrast very thick and large size glass can be grinded; and in mass production can be as accurate and well done. More complex machines are needed for shaped glasses than straight glasses. Cnc machines are used for shaped glasses because it cannot be made by other machines. Cnc machines produce glass at the desired size, but the industry is working at a tolerance of + 1mm or - 1mm in size.
According to the glass thickness and size, grinding speed and rpm is increased or decreased. These speed changes make a better quality finish and better for the machine. Coolant is used for increasing the grinding speed and eases maintenance of the machine.
